When war broke out in Ukraine in February 2022, God touched the heart of one man in County Down, Northern Ireland, to fill his van with food and aid and drive to Poland where millions of Ukrainian people had fled to. He made a simple phone call to a friend and that phone call triggered an incredible display of generosity from people all over Northern Ireland – bigger and better than they could ever have imagined. He never got taking his van to Poland but in less than a week, 43 lorries filled with aid set off for Poland and in the 12 months that followed, over half a million pounds was raised to buy food, essential items and generators for those affected most by the war. This book is an account of what can happen in a very short space of time when people unite together to show God’s love in a practical but powerful way. There are dozens of photographs which show the vast scale of the operation and the impact it made much more vividly than word could ever do.
