Happy Christmas from Ards Evangelical Bookshop
The last year has been a sad and difficult one for many but Christmas brings us a message of hope amidst the darkness. The angels announced "good tidings which shall be to all people." This message of the gospel rings down through the ages to everyone. The angels' song was: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men".
This tells us of three results of the coming into the world of the Saviour:
GLORY TO GOD
The gospel is "the glorious gospel of the blessed God."
PEACE ON EARTH
At calvary, the Lord Jesus "made peace by the blood of His cross."
GOOD WILL TO MEN
The Father Who sent the Son is "God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved."
What a Saviour and what a message the angels brought; a message which we can still spread around the world "to all people".
Through all this year's difficultes associated with trading, lockdown, stock supply, restrictions, etc. you all have supported us and been with us through the journey. We appreciate it very much and would like to place on record our thanks again for another year's custom. It is our priviledge to continue to serve you.
We are taking a longer break this year. We will be closed from Christmas Eve through to Tuesday 4th Jan. My dad has been in hospital (he's home now and doing much better) and, with other stresses and sicknesses, we have felt ourselves stretched to the limit.
We trust you all know the blessing of the Lord this Christmas and for 2022 and look forward to serving you again.

God’s Christmas Gift
He did not use a silvery box
Or paper green and red.
God laid His Christmas Gift to you
Within a manger bed.
No silken cord was used to bind
The Gift sent from above,
’Twas wrapped in swaddling cloths and bound
In cords of tender love.
There was no evergreen to which
His precious Gift was tied.
Upon a bare tree on a hill
His Gift was hung.... and died.
’Twas taken down from off the tree
And laid beneath the sod
But death itself could not destroy
The precious Gift of God.
With mighty hand He lifted Him
From out the stony grave
Forevermore for everyman
A living Gift He gave.
