John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville) plays Mr. Canter, a ranch owner and business tycoon whose spoiled daughter Abigail rejects Misty, a horse Canter buys her. It is then that the plucky and energetic and Amanda takes the horse under her wing to prove that Misty can become a champion.

Played by Kayla Kenedy (The Three Stooges [2012], Sarah's Friend), Amanda is a sparky girl coping with the death of her mother whilst forging a friendship with her now horse, Misty.

Determined to prove to Abigail, who rejected the horse, that Misty can succeed, Amanda learns the value of opening your heart and finding happiness in friendship.

A Gift Horse is a charming and uplifting film, not just for horse-lovers but for the whole family which teaches the value of friendship and of 'taking life by the reins'!
