The story of the remarkable March family, where everyone tries very hard to be good and do what's right, and they sometimes succeed.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) published Little Women in 1868. It was one of the first American novels to become a children's classic. Alcott edited the children's magazine Merry's Museum, as well as other classic short stories and literature for children.

"Recently I revisited Little Women, a book I'd read perhaps three dozen times in childhood. Reading again from a perspective of adulthood, I saw the profound influence this book has had on my morals, my values, my longing, and my dreams."
Karen Wojahn
